Future price targets for cryptocurrency XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) tend to be wildly bullish. Even though XRP is currently trading for just over $1, it’s not uncommon to see price targets as high as $100. And, until recently, crypto bulls were convinced that XRP was heading to $1,000.
Unfortunately, XRP has consistently overpromised and under-delivered. In more than a decade of trading, XRP has never traded higher than $3.84.

XRP still has a chance to move higher over the next few years, but investors need to ratchet down their expectations. I predict XRP will only reach $2 by the end of 2030.
What is a realistic growth rate for XRP?
On the surface, a price target of $2 might sound underwhelming. After all, XRP traded as high as $3.65 last summer before eventually hitting a brick wall. Earlier in 2025, XRP hit $3.40 before giving back those gains.
But just think of the phenomenal growth rate XRP will need to regain the $4 price level over the next few years. To move from its current price of $1 to a future price of $4, XRP will need to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of more than 40%.
To put that number into context, Bitcoin has delivered a 37% CAGR over the past decade, while Ethereum has delivered a 23% CAGR. So investors are asking XRP to grow faster than either Bitcoin or Ethereum, the two market leaders.
With that in mind, a more realistic growth rate for XRP may be 20%. That’s still faster than the growth rate of many established tech companies. If XRP grows at a 20% CAGR over the next four years, it will double in value to $2 by the end of 2030.
Potential catalysts for XRP
Of course, it will take a lot for XRP to achieve a 20% growth rate. First and foremost, new use cases need to be found for the XRP token, which is primarily used now as a bridge currency for cross-border transactions. One of the most interesting new use cases could be real-world asset (RWA) tokenization on the XRP blockchain ledger.
Secondly, the regulatory environment for crypto needs to remain supportive, and new crypto legislation needs to be passed to make it easier for financial institutions and banks to embrace blockchain-based payment technology. It looked like this crypto legislation would pass this year, but the Clarity Act fizzled in the Senate in September.
If both catalysts deliver as planned, XRP could finally see a breakout. But keep your expectations in check. XRP is not going to hit $10, $100, or $1,000. Instead, XRP will be fortunate to double in value and reach $2 by the end of 2030.
