Key Points

  • Joby Aviation reported third-quarter 2026 financial results yesterday after the market closed.

  • Beating analysts’ estimates, Joby reported Q3 2026 revenue of $55 million.

  • Because the company remains unprofitable, Joby stock should be considered only by those with high risk tolerances.

Flying higher today after the company delivered a strong third-quarter 2026 financial report, Joby Aviation (NYSE:JOBY) stock is poised to close above its previous close. A feat that the air taxi stock has sustained for the past three consecutive days.

As of 3:26 p.m. ET, shares of Joby are up 3.8%, retreating from an earlier rise of 15.2%.

$55 million on the top line has investors charged up

Joby reported sales of $55 million for Q3 2026, handily beating analysts’ expectations of $40.4 million.

The company also reported a narrower loss — $211.8 million — compared to the same period last year, when it incurred a net loss of $401.2 million.

In addition to the figures on the income statement, investors celebrated the company’s progress toward achieving type certification, a critical step toward launching commercial operations. Joby stated that it “completed a series of significant ‘for credit’ tests with the FAA [Federal Aviation Administration], covering the fuselage, propeller hubs, tail, ruddervators, tilt actuators and the high-resolution recorder.”

Joby is developing electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft that are capable of autonomous flight, and its business, Blade, is a leading provider of urban air mobility in the United States and Europe.

Is Joby stock a buy after ascending higher today?

While Joby‘s stock trades at a higher price than yesterday, growth investors should hardly be discouraged from loading up on shares. Since the eVTOL company remains unprofitable and isn’t guaranteed to receive the requisite FAA certifications, only those comfortable with a more speculative stock should consider taking positions.
